The “Twelve Printmakers” is a well established group of East Anglian artists, first formed in 1984.
The aim of the Group is to produce high quality hand-made images using a wide range of fully recognised print-making techniques, both in limited editions and as one-off unique images. All the prints are conceived and carried out by the artist working directly on the block, plate or screen from which the print will be made. The Group is based on the Essex/Suffolk border, with close links to the Gainsborough House Print Workshop in Sudbury and the Colchester-based print studio at Cuckoo Farm. The artists meet on a regular basis to exchange ideas and plan for exhibitions and have shown extensively in East Anglia and London. Their work is held in private collections, both in the UK and abroad.
